Whoa. Athalon 2800. 512DDR266. 128DDR video. Whoa, big difference. I just turned it on and the desktop came up as fast as turning on an FM radio. Web pages are flying (I had been unawared that my old cpu slowed down regular http, but there is a big differene). Whoa.
I kept my old one, which my parents gave me for high school graduation, and now have the two set up on my desk like I am some kind of techie nerd. Oh wait . . .
The old one is six years old, and has withstood heave use and abuse. It is still very useful to me, and is still a great computer, but it is as if I have entered a new stage in my life now. Whoa!
I do not know how this will affect my writing, or how it will affect this page, but things are going to change.

Update: I just watched the Spiderman 2 preview . . . streaming!!! Totally clear and crisp. This was impossible before (buffering . . . buffering . . . buffering . . .). Note that I have the same internet connection (college LAN). Whoa!

I, too, do not know how the new computer will affect your writing. The question is: Will it improve your spelling?????
Hey, just figured that this would be as good as place as any to tell you that while your new layout looks great in IE6.0, I can only see the bar on the right in Mozilla 1.7. (Same computer, same resolution, etc) On the other hand, Metzger and Prizio blogs work fine in either, so you might want to play with your layour some.
