FDA Research Notebook
Published by Jake Allen April 5th, 2005 in UncategorizedInteresting facts from the FDA:
*Kentucky has the highest incidence rate of colorectal cancer among men [Jake pops another Fibercon]
*Kentucky has the highest death rate of lung cancer among men
*In the US, the average weight for men ages 20-74 rose dramatically, from about 166 pounds in 1960 to 191 pounds in 2002 (I am between those numbers, another reminder of my own mediocrity, although according to the US Army tables for weight, I am too light)
*The average weight for women the same ages increased from about 140 pounds in 1960 to 164 pounds in 2002 (men are getting fatter faster than women)
Apparently, smoking, obesity, and being female can kill you. Also, being male can kill you.
Madness.

I hope you are taking care of yourself, Jake.
Thanks. You reminded me to eat.
Seriously.
