Knowledge is Power
Published by Jake Allen June 14th, 2005 in UncategorizedMore than two weeks and no posts from Jake? Madness!!!
I have just spent the last 90 minutes reading various articles on Men’s Health’s website. It’s not the kind of magazine I would have read a few years ago, but two different friends have recommended it to me recently, and there’s been a big magazine gap in my life since I canceled my subscription to MAD, so I checked it out.
As it turns out, I have learned several things:
1) My ab workout, consisting primarily of sit-ups once monthly, is not going to give better results over time. I should do something else involving a “swiss ball” and twice daily workouts.
2) My watch is too cheap. So are my shoes. Both of them. Seems like the car is doing OK, though.
3) My diet is awful, but not being a beer drinker is a big plus.
4) This girl (should single women over 25 be appropriately called “girls”? I never know) I have been attracted to WAS attracted to me based on the various behavior thermometers in Men’s Health, but has since moved on. I lose again.
MADNESS?

welcome back chum.
We have missed you, Jake! Have you ever tried Pilates? Best ab workout on the planet and you don’t have to buy any silly Swiss balls or whatever. It is best to take in a class, but a video (if you are self-motivated) will do the trick. You are right, abs need to be worked out daily. This is why I have an, albeit mostly flat, but wiggly tummy. Some guys find a tummy on girls cute. I keep telling myself that.
For the world’s best diet advice turn to Dr. Mercola. He is my favorite on-line guru. I have read everything on the planet about diet and nutrition (I still have yet to follow it!) and declare Mercola to be the best! http://www.mercola.com/nutritionplan/
If that chick only likes you for your hot bod or whatever else men’s health has to say then she isn’t worth fretting over. Find yourself a woman who appreciates your character! Don’t get me wrong- a hot bod never hurt anyone, but one day we will all get old and crumply. I heard a quote once, “Cute is fleeting, stupid is forever.”
Good luck with the ladies, Jake!
I was wondering what happened to you. By the way your site is all different and your comments are acting wierd from time to time saying I can’t comment and the like.
I miss you too, Jake. Or, rather, I miss the bright and eager fellow I once knew. Sunt lacrimae rerum . . . Et exspecto . . .
