Taiwan

I now type on a laptop manufactured in Taiwan. This is not particularly noteworthy, except that this laptop was not made in China. You see, the United States has no diplomatic relationship with Taiwan, except that the United States does have a very involved diplomatic, economic, and military relationship with Taiwan. The democratically elected leader cannot visit Washington, D.C., but communist despots can.

We support democracy in this country. Just not officially.

Madness!

    Rock on, brother!

After I finish arranging the first visit by a Belarusian theatre company to the United States (performing in native Belarusian, not Russian, of course), I’m thinking of arranging some artistic project in Taiwan to snub Beijing? Maybe the world’s biggest mooning across the China Sea?
