Dim Sum worked out great, see below.  Today I’ll try to visit a monastery with a giant Bronze Buddha. It’s on a different island, and the guide book says it’s hard to get to, so we’ll see.

The hotel restaurant (night before last), was a great experience.  Everyone is so nice and polite.  I guess if you cross Chinese culture with British sensibilities, you get Hong Kong niceness.  I can’t quit saying: everyone is so nice!!!

I went shopping again last night.  I got two pairs of pants and two dress shirts for less than US$25.

Some very short Thai-looking men offered me drugs yesterday. “Want some hash? Hey sir, want some hash?”  Even the druggies are polite here.  Fake Rolex dealers are everywhere.

I’ve had a bunch of little adventures.  I don’t know how many of them I’ll share, or even remember since the days are so long and so packed. I’ll try.

It’s almost 6AM. I need to get going if I am going to make it to the monastery. It’s far away, and I got up at 5 for it, but it’s tough to get going.  I do not think that I’ll make it to Macau or China in the next three days, but we’ll see.

I’m learning so much all day long.  I am continually impressed with Chinese culture.  The Chinese will rule over the rest of us one day.  Why wasn’t I born Chinese like most people?

Madness?
