Gmail at about 200k
Published by jakeallen August 7th, 2006 in jake.allen.ockhamist.com, Jake's Musings, Science/Tech, metabloggingI’ve saved about 200,000 emails since beginning to use Gmail on 5/6/04. That seems alternately high and low. I’ve saved most of the newsletters, campus mailers, Netflix, and other mass mailings through Gmail’s labeling system. On the other hand, scrolling through the mail shows I’ve written and recieved a lot of email personally.
I can only think of three times in over two years that the spam filter caught something I wanted. Spam gets into my inbox about once a week. I am pretty confident that all of the spam has been caught by Gmail or me. Now I get about 80 spam emails a day. It rose about a year ago but has leveled off.
Also, thanks to the new people linking to me.
Madness!
