Wal-Mart is So Gay
Published by Blandus September 7th, 2006 in Blandus' musings, Cultural Commentary, News Commentary, Religion, politics, AmericaWHY is Wal-Mart supporting homosexual activism?
On August 21, 2006, the “National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce” announced a “partnership” with Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.
This means . . .
- Wal-Mart is now a “corporate member” of the “National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.”
- A Wal-Mart vice president will now serve as an advisor to the “National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.”
- Wal-Mart will now sponsor (pay for) some of the programs of the “National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce,” including two conferences.
How can Wal-Mart keep its reputation as a “family-friendly” store and company if it continues to use consumer dollars to fund radical social activism?

It’s not like the gay community even shops at Wal-Mart. I mean, how could they? They don’t even offer bed clothing sets in mauve. I’m sorry, truly hids.
Sorry for the formatting woes. Jake got this back into some reasonable form, but I am not going to go back and readjust everything.
I agree that the gay community probably shops more at Target. The question remains, Why is Wal-Mart tarnishing its family-friendly image?
I think like all big money orgs (i.e. Republicans), they have realized there is no good answer to the question, Where else will [social conservatives] go?
There is a cool breeze above Sam Walton’s grave from all of the spinning.
Madness!
Glad to see Blandus is “out of the blogging closet” and striking a blow against the anti-family forces that have now apparently infiltrated our neighborhood super store. Yet another reason for me to shop somewhere else…but is there somewhere else? Not with low low prices everyday. As my soon to be Moroccan friend would say…madness.
I feel much more secure now that I have “registered” on the Ockhamist. Before I was merely an interloper…now a trusted friend.
