I bought a new desktop computer last week. It’s great, a Moroccan brand, except that it speaks French and I don’t. When I um, buy a legal copy of Windows, I can get that changed. Until then, I just have . . .
Folie!!!!

Another ex-pat had a slingbox (www.slingmedia.com) from his brother-in-law, so we were able to watch high-quality streaming Super Bowl XLI over the internet. Ha. Purple Rain . . . Purple Rain. . ..

Prince was actually rather disappointing. Madness!

To all of you who are peering in for the first time because a certain “Bob” emailed you a certain “Excel” spreadsheet put together by a green man that had a certain amount of information about you and me and the rest . . . . remember your STS!
And hello. Email me.

Skype

I have been testing skype. It works really well. The calls to US numbers (for free) are much better than expected.

From a small rural library in central Florida with a very worn keyboard (keeeeeysss stiiiicck) and 800 x 600 monitor (”the letters are so big!”), I read on Peter Krupa about the ArmsControlWonk, who has some good data and insight about North Korea’s FAILED nuke test Sunday night.  The news I’ve been reading on my […]

Being unemployed currently, I easily fill my time.  I’ve had some recent conversations where I assert that our society is entering a goldern age of television. This is not my idea, but I think that the reason has to do with streams of revenue. […]

I just finished an hour bike ride.  Twenty minues out, my heartrate is still noticeably above normal, which can be interpreted as either good or bad.
An article today reports that two new studies confirm that even a few extra pounds contribute to early death.
While I am still in the middle of the BMI chart, I […]

I’ve saved about 200,000 emails since beginning to use Gmail on 5/6/04.  That seems alternately high and low.  I’ve saved most of the newsletters, campus mailers, Netflix, and other mass mailings through Gmail’s labeling system.  On the other hand, scrolling through the mail shows I’ve written and recieved a lot of email personally.
I can only […]

The two Google billionaries are getting sued/suing the guy paid by their holding company to modify their party-in-the-sky Boeing 767.  This WSJ article is a riot!

Also on Drudge right now, Justin Timerlake vows to change pop music, to make it even worse.  Because nobody has ever “pushed the boundaries” in music before.
